Community isn’t just something we talk about — it’s something we actively support. Each year, employees across CFSI rally behind United Way and local nonprofit partners to help strengthen the neighborhoods where we live and work.
The results of our 2025 campaign reflect what’s possible when people come together around a shared purpose.
A Growing Commitment
For the second year in a row, our companywide United Way campaign delivered increased participation and greater impact.
What once began as separate efforts across different parts of the organization has grown into a unified initiative that connects employees under one common goal: making a difference close to home.
-
2024: 324 employees contributed more than $74,000 in our first all-CFSI campaign.
-
2025: Nearly 400 employees participated, raising almost $100,000 to support local programs and services.
The average pledge per participant also rose this year — a meaningful sign that employees are deepening their commitment to the causes that matter most.
Local Giving, Local Impact
United Way’s work focuses on three pillars that help communities thrive:
-
Education
-
Financial stability
-
Health
Because contributions remain local, employee donations directly support families, neighbors, and community organizations across our footprint.
This year:
-
35 United Way chapters received support
-
37 additional nonprofit organizations benefited from campaign contributions
Among them were organizations such as:
-
A Tiny Home For Good
-
Food Bank of Central New York
-
Northeast Kingdom Human Services
-
OnPoint for College
-
Shipman Youth Center
-
Rescue Mission of Utica
-
Watertown YMCA
And many others doing essential work in our communities.
Beyond Financial Contributions
Giving at CFSI goes far beyond donations.
Employees also volunteer throughout the year, participating in initiatives such as Day of Caring projects that provide hands-on support to nonprofit partners. Teams organize local events, coordinate volunteer calendars, and build meaningful, ongoing relationships with community organizations.
In Utica, for example, the BPAS team hosted its first United Way kickoff event and established a structured volunteer calendar to expand regional engagement.
These efforts reflect a culture that values service as much as success.
Empowering Employees to Give
Supporting United Way is always voluntary, and employees can contribute to any United Way chapter of their choice through convenient payroll deduction. This flexibility allows individuals to align their giving with causes that are personally meaningful to them.
Creating space for employees to give back isn’t just a program — it’s part of who we are.
Looking Ahead
The message at the heart of United Way is simple: together, we accomplish more.
Through generosity, volunteerism, and shared purpose, CFSI employees continue to create lasting impact in the communities we’re proud to serve.
And if the momentum of 2025 is any indication, that impact will only continue to grow.
